I wanted to design a lamp that looks like a rock so I created a skeletal structure in my CAD software which I covered with thin maple veneer.

I stained the lamp with @minwaxusa Color Series Oil-Based stain in the color Tangerine to create a warm, orange glow.

I love this product because of how easy it is to apply evenly and how the wood grain shows through. The final step was protecting the lampshade with Minwax Wipe-on Poly.

I wanted to build this clever cabinet that transforms to save space. I partnered with @minwaxusa on this piece and used their Color Series product in a Semi-Transparent finish to achieve a lighter bleached look.
I used a tighter-grained Douglas fir for this design and I didn’t want the finish to be too warm toned and amber, so I used Minwax Color Series in Warm White to lighten it up, and make the grain pattern pop.

I love Minwax oil-based stains, especially for larger projects, because they don’t dry as fast as water-based stains, giving me more time between application and wiping the stain off. Their Color-Series Stain also comes in 240+ tintable colors at @loweshomeimprovement.
After staining, I protected it with a top coat of Minwax Wipe-On Poly.
Studio shots of the waxed canvas jacket i designed Studio shots of the waxed canvas jacket i designed.
SS/25, waxed canvas, sherpa, sandblasted aluminum.
Last spring I designed and made this jacket. 12 oz Last spring I designed and made this jacket.
12 oz. waxed canvas, sherpa hood lining, and custom toggle buttons.
I was intrigued by the idea of making custom buttons for the jacket; it quickly became my obsession and a project of its own. I modeled the buttons in CAD, had them machined out of aluminum stock, and sandblasted for a roughened uniform finish. I wasn’t happy with the finish of the sandblasted aluminum— it was too rough. After some quick thinking, i threw the buttons in a sock, threw the sock in the dryer and rock tumbled them for a few hours. It worked perfectly and I was left with a smoother slightly more reflective finish.
The jacket itself came together after a few rough protos.
All that to say, I’m very happy with how it turned out and equally excited for the rainy fall weather here in Portland as I’ll get to wear it more often.

#ad Dorms are often cramped, chaotic and boring— s #ad Dorms are often cramped, chaotic and boring— so I built something to fix that.

I’ve partnered with @homedepot to show you how you can make your dorm feel more like home with some DIY furniture and home items!

I included some essentials I actually used in my own dorm: an electric kettle, tea organizer, Husky trays, and a desk light with wireless charging. Links to all of the products in my bio!

Whether you’re making your own furniture or just want to make a dorm feel less like a closet, @homedepot has you covered for your dorm essentials!

So I built a coffee station, stocked it with the essentials, and organized everything with products from The Home Depot.

1) Everything I used to make my coffee station actually functional.
2) How to build it (spoiler: it’s just glue, screws, and wood)
3) Helpful Hooks and Hangers- great for organizing the chaos of your dorm room.
4) Make it feel like home.
5) The design specs.
